IMPENDING ENDING
It’s like we’re rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic
Impending Ending was a short work created for the FLING Company for “The Stadium’s Last Hurrah”, their final performance in FLING’s home venue of over ten years, the Bega Indoor Stadium, prior to its demolition.
Reflecting on the imminent demolition of the building, Impending Ending offers a peaceful and humorous protest. The performers scramble to reconfigure the audience, but they are just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. Ultimately resistance is futile - we have to know when to stand our ground and when to walk away.
